You know, there are quite a few apartment finder websites available that can answer that question for you. Any medium to large apartment complex will have all their availability inventory and prices online.

When it comes to Hartford the northwest and southwest sides have less crime and are close to better towns. The town of West Hartford (not part of actual Hartford) is the generic answer to most people asking where to live around Hartford because Hartford itself isn't that great.

Ok thanks for the info! What about east Hartford or Bloomfield how would you rate those areas?

Bloomfield on the Simsbury side is pretty nice. I would probably look there over anywhere in East Hartford.

The “safe” neighborhoods in Hartford are not affordable. Everything is a la carte nowadays, too. So rent might set you back $1500, but then utilities and other amenities will add another $500-$1000. I’ve always used FB Marketplace and Craigslist to find my apartments in Hartford. Also, hit up Becky Koladis for Hartford rentals: rkoladis@bhhsne.com

Ask her about Bushnell Tower. It’s a beautiful high rise right downtown with a remote control access parking garage below. The units usually come with everything included. Rents go from $1100-$3000/month.
