I work as an Airbnb cleaner. Downtown around these XL center or in West Hartford are the safer areas in my opinion. My host has units in WeHa, XL center area, north end, and Bristol/Windsor. They only ones I'd consider staying in are the West and XL areas. Quality is also best in those areas if you want to be in Hartford directly.

Agree with this comment. I loved mostly on the rougher side of the north end most of my life ( 28 yo) recently moved downtown as of last year and it’s night and day difference. I can actually enjoy being outside and walking around. There aren’t any good convenient stores and the rent is astronomically high but it’s worth it for the safety.

I live downtown and love it. I find the public transit is super convenient (you definitely need a car but I take public transit whenever possible). There are lots of good restaurants, bars, museums, etc. It's definitely a quiet area compared to any other city I've lived in, but I feel very safe.

I'm a hard no. I'm not even native to this state but I have had to live with my hockey team moving to someplace that has no business having a hockey team. That's a tasteless cash grab. It's like when I was in a bar a while back (probably pre-pandemic) and they played Brass Bonanza in the stadium after the Hurricanes scored a goal. Nope. You're dead to us.
