Good morning, I'm in bed. Laptop on, slightly nervous and still a bit drunk from last night, but let's do this...

ASK ME ANYTHING.

Final questions please! You've all been much better behaved and less horny than I was lead to believe.

Any final Qs?

douglasbooth1 OP t1_iyuts8v wrote

I've been lucky to have such a varied set of opportunities in my career so far. Feel lucky to not have been too typecast, or at least theres some variety within the casting I fit into. Haven't been part of any huge franchises yet, but maybe that's for the best. Not sure what you think!

23

CTW397 t1_iyuu7pa wrote

I'd imagine there's definitely a feeling of freedom to not being typecast, which is really nice! Plus, big franchises feel like committing a lot of time spent in the gym and eating chicken, which is never fun.

douglasbooth1 OP t1_iyuudxk wrote

I think I'd look good in the lycra though... or maybe not!

G'day from Australia, mate.

Wondering what your wildest story is on set thus far in your career?

Also, how was it working with Bill Nighy in The Limehouse Golem? He comes across as a decent bloke.

12

douglasbooth1 OP t1_iyuubln wrote

My wildest set stories prob aren't appropriate for this site... or are they?

And Bill is a hugely inspiring actor and the best to work with.

I remember you doing a lot of work for the UNHCR how do you think a regular person can help the global refugee crisis happening right now with places like Ukraine and some countries in the Middle east? Do you think its harder to be a politically active celebrity than one that isnt as engaged?

10

douglasbooth1 OP t1_iyuu358 wrote

Yes, you can read about my history with the UNHCR here: https://www.unhcr.org/uk/douglas-booth.html

There are so many charities offering on the ground support, anyone can do some research choose a cause they believe in and do what they can within their means to support. Everyone has a contribution to make. As a celebrity you can help amplify, but the reason we do that is to connect to people like yourself wanting to make a difference.

Hello /u/douglasbooth1,

There is not enough proof included in the post that connects your identity to the IAmA.

Unfortunately, the links or photos you've posted could have been posted by anyone, and they don't prove that you are the person doing the AMA. Your proof needs to be something that connects the fact that you're doing an AMA with your identity. This could be something like a photo of you in a work uniform or at a relevant location with a sign that has your username and the date. It could also be documents (partially redacted if desired) with a note that has your username and the date. We're happy for you to get creative with your proof as long as it makes it clear to a reasonable person that the person doing the AMA does meet the criteria laid out in the topic of the AMA.

If you can't think of a way to prove your claims publicly, you can also submit confidential proof to the moderators at this link, though bear in mind it may take some time to review.

Here's a link to the section of our wiki that discusses proof.

Please edit your post and add new proof, and reply here to let us know. If your post is more than a couple of hours old, it may be more effective to create a new post and include the proof from the start. Thanks!
