What do you think about you and apps likes your's (Airbnb mainly) are destroying established societies, increasing rents beyond levels of affordable by locals, completely refusing any responsibility (thanks to disgusting, we are just middle man logic) regarding laws, regulations, insurance and liabilities, causing undue stress and problems with other people living around these locations?
Also what do you think in today's society an startup that cannot raise a relatively small 50k $ from regular ways and that has to beg from kickstarters?

I am sorry but as a cleantech business developer that is highly involved in fund raising, only reason that an startup failing to raise 50k today would be either bad business idea or bad business plan. You being poor or whatever is just excuses.

I have seen organizations that would grant me 50k if i fill a simple form tomorrow...

What do you feel distinguishes your platform versus more established “pre app” rental companies, VRBO or Airbnb?

How do you intend to attract people to the platform as owners/renters?

Why do you think we need any advanced AI for a service like Airbnb? Can you give a few scenarios?

For my experience, the issue with airbnb is high fees and scammers. I dont see any other app with the same popularity can resolve these issues easily, definitely not with some advanced AI as the differentiation.

AI and machine learning are imperfect at best. Simple drop-down menus are clear, exact, and reliable.

Especially if I'm on a phone, I don't want to take ten minutes to try to describe something I am looking for in exactly the right way to get results. Let me select an area on a map, set a few common options, and have a button to select from additional options if I need. A conversational AI is useful when you expand to other platforms. If you introduce Google Assistant or Siri or Alexa integration, or an Android TV app, places where a keyboard and mouse aren't available, it becomes more useful. That said, I think you have to ask the question of whether it's the right platform for you. Would someone want to book a stay on their TV, or an Alexa device without a screen?

Does your landing page… do… anything? I just tried to search and it just sat there

No, it was a legit question … normally I’d expect the landing page to have instructions on how to log in etc if you are going for a kickstarter approach etc… maybe food for thought :)

I am sorry but I have to ask this:

> I also have a travel chat bot that can do pretty much anything you ask it to, and can even make travel recommendations. Airbnb doesn't have people to help do that.

Did you create this AI chat bot yourself or are you just using OpenAI's API?

Will there be cleaning fees? Given a 5 night stay at 200 a night, what are the expected fees

Are you not concerned people will confuse you with the robot from Star Trek that wants to sterilize imperfect life?

I honestly don’t see how your product is differentiated from already existing apps. Like you said it can take millions to launch an app of this scale. I think you need to rethink why you are making this app. Maybe instead of 1 person renting it’s a hostel, or maybe it’s for college students or …? Idk.

Do you consider yourself to be a useless, predatory middle man (or woman) who is making things worse instead of better?

Have you considered a more productive way of earning money instead of pen hooking your way through life?

Are you saying Altman invested $5k in Nomadas? Am I being incredibly dense and this is a play on you using free GPT credits, or did you actually exchange equity for $5k?

Hello /u/nomadpassapp,

There is not enough proof included in the post that connects your identity to the IAmA.

Unfortunately, the links or photos you've posted could have been posted by anyone, and they don't prove that you are the person doing the AMA. Your proof needs to be something that connects the fact that you're doing an AMA with your identity. This could be something like a photo of you in a work uniform or at a relevant location with a sign that has your username and the date. It could also be documents (partially redacted if desired) with a note that has your username and the date. We're happy for you to get creative with your proof as long as it makes it clear to a reasonable person that the person doing the AMA does meet the criteria laid out in the topic of the AMA.

If you can't think of a way to prove your claims publicly, you can also submit confidential proof to the moderators at this link, though bear in mind it may take some time to review.

Here's a link to the section of our wiki that discusses proof.

Please edit your post and add new proof, and reply here to let us know. If your post is more than a couple of hours old, it may be more effective to create a new post and include the proof from the start. Thanks!
