I want one where I can ride my stationary bike at home and watch the streets of my hometown pass by… without paying a lot for the privilege

One time I set up my stationary bike in front of the TV, fired up GTA V. Found a road bike and set the camera to first person and just cruised around town while actually pedaling irl. It was pretty awesome actually, I just couldn't figure out how to comfortably hold the controller

GTA bike let's you do this with a bike trainer. You can still shoot people of you bring a controller as well.

You want VZFIT.

Not interested in expensive exercise apps … I just want something motivating to watch while I peddle in place.

Fair enough. It’s worth mentioning that the cost of using street view is part of the reason for the price of VzFit.

Strap a 360⁰ camera to your helmet and ride your bike through your town, then watch it while you stationary cycle at home. You can do the same thing with your favorite stores, parks, even your friends' and family's homes. You'll never have to leave your home again.

I’d have to hire a teenager to wear a GoPro and ride through town … too many hills and it’s 20* out there right now.

Back in my day, all we had were Polaroids and we liked it

Polaroids …. fancy! Although there was something wonderful about putting the developing sleeve in my bra when taking Polaroids on cold days.

You can do this with an app and a cadence sensor (inexpensive). I forgot the app name I will update you if I remember. If you have a vr headset the app works with that too.

VR headsets make me want to puke … disconnect between eyes and ears is too disorienting. Brain is an old model and ineligible for updates.

Coordinating an app and the bike is more functionality than I need. I may experiment with YouTube videos and play speed.

There are bike training apps that does exactly this.

The apps I’ve seen do big cities … I’m thinking little town where Google Maps does a street view …

I haven’t looked into them recently but perhaps I’ll see what new stuff has come along.
