I just scrolled through many and realized I have no idea what games people play these days. It also seems like they were talking to others, but just not via twitch.

As someone that streams to 0 to 2 people, thank you. 🥰

This is a great idea. It's a shame how many folks sit near the bottom. Shit even my birthday stream will probably be barren. A couple of people can make all the difference in the world.

Eyy! I love this site! Great thing to do when you're bored; I remember staying up for hours in the chat of this one dude who was livestreaming as he tried to get some writing done. I miiiight have distracted him from that, but he was awesome to talk to. No regrets.

My friends and I like to skim through this site a few times a month. Sometimes we find cool stuff, like a foosball tournament. Usually its just people silently playing warzone, fortnite, or valorant though

I had a larger streamer raid me with about 100 viewers, sad he used this site to find my stream. I was playing an old game of Champions of Krynn in DOSBOx and I think I had like 1 viewer? lol it was pretty cool to see it and interact with all the people that stayed, i think at the ened i had like maybe 30 viewers actually stuck around, and probqbly 10 of them did subscriptions, one of them bought 5 gifted subs which i thought was cool....it was a nice change of pace..

As someone who regularly has zero to one viewers while I play Doom I really appreciate this.

I'm out at https://twitch.tv/frozenfuzz_cof if anyone was interested. I mainly started doing it as a way to stay sane while working from home and to share my love of Doom.

I've seen an artist stream where I realized they were taking questions from YouTube(IIRC)though they had the stream running on at least 1 other platform, if not others.

I stream on and off sometimes. It's way more fun when you have people in chat to talk to even if it is just one person

I wouldn’t be surprised if my stream shows up there a ton.

Hysteria878 t1_izjdl01 wrote

I wonder if mine has. Is it only 0 viewers because bots like StreamElements show up as a viewer, which would inherently exclude streamers who have those tools. Anyway, it would be nice to have more than one viewer.

Now that is a wonderful thing! I think I’ll give it a whirl next time I stream if I have a good audience with me.

I really dont understand streaming. Why would i want to watch someone else play videogames instead of just play them myself?

−3

Billybobjimjoejeffjr t1_izk4abe wrote

Its not always about what they are doing but whos doing it. Also cost of the game is a factor, skills, other stuff. Finding out if a game looks fun before buying.

I dont play video games while i eat but i would watch someone play while i eat.

I don't watch livestreams though but i watch plenty of people play videogames on YouTube.

Serious question. I've always been a bit intrigued by streaming but I'm not someone who likes to have to interact with people when playing. I play a lot of one player games and I feel like if I have to interact, it'll take me out of the story driven game. Does every streamer interact?

DataSquid2 t1_izkpmrr wrote

I'd think getting a friend on their discord call would help if their intent is to get viewers. A stream with a silent streamer seems like a bad idea.

Maybe I just don't understand their intent though.

Wip3out__ t1_izkr4fk wrote

I like to jump from one streamer to another Just to see everytime 30 sec ads. Before i can actually see something. No wonder people are not interested in new streamers.

When I stream Im usually quiet until someone joins then I try to engage with them. My setup isnt great either I have 1 monitor and have to use my phone to look at chat. Usually I dont even notice I gained a viewer until they say something. I cant speak for others though I guess some people dont know how to engage with people.

I can't play dark souls - I'm just not good at it - but I find the lore fascinating and the gameplay fun to watch when done by someone with some skill (i.e. more than me). Watching someone I like the style of stream dark souls is my way of experiencing a game that is otherwise out of reach for me.
