Hey all! This has become something of a passion project since I shared it about a year ago, and I’ve added a bunch of stuff as I’ve had time, including:

  • More polished visuals
  • More options (for things like a window frame, mountain zoom level, colors, etc)
  • The ability to draw fireworks
  • The ability to capture all of your current settings in a URL in case you’re like me and really just love rainy fall days
  • PWA support, so you can install it and run it offline like an app

Thanks for the continued feedback and to everyone who uses it!

What would be 100% more soothing is those northern lights not jiggling like they do and to be more smooth, slow and peaceful like they are in real life. They alone are totally meditative, but these ones I'm sorry to say are jarring.

I like it a lot, however when you said about it looking out of a train window, I imagined something like the scene in Miyuzaki's Spirited Away. The music is perfect, the scenery is great. I would love the addition of toggles for the train window frame, the chugging of the wheels on tracks, some random telegraph polls / distant towns / fields. But as it is I will be already coming back regularly to chill :)

thank you for making this beautiful thing!

Thank you! There is actually a toggle for the window frame if you hit the settings on the bottom right. The idea of towns or little cottages is something I've been thinking about playing with, so that's validating to hear. Glad you enjoyed it!
