What exactly is can pressing? Is it when the can is compacted after the liquid is put into it?

The aluminum comes in huge coils and it's literally stamped and stretched.

I see. I think that sounds interesting but it probably can get repetitive after a while.

Hopefully it's repetitive, haha. That would imply things are running well but they often don't

I can imagine, one of my first gigs was being the guy at the recycle center where people turned in their bottles and cans.... some of the worst smells in the world are beer and soda in the sun

Add in dead bait and dog shit and you get the average garbage can near a boat launch/Park. I used to empty the garbage cans around different parks. Those were always the worst. Worms and chicken livers rotting in their own juices in the summer heat have an unforgettable smell when mixed with old beer bouquet.

I've worked on a factory line sorting and grading fruit. It is mind-numbingly dull and strongly hypnotic. Then the line gets halted for your mandated break ... and everyone stumbles one step to the left.

Can agree. I was an intern but there was one time where everyone that is present in the factory is needed to be involved in sorting a mass production product. After the belt conveyor stops, I'm seeing things moving left. It got to my mind thinking about those factory workers, wondering how they're able to keep on working in this condition for years.
