If you’re in northern Finland/Sweden/Norway there’s very little daylight in the winter. Sun comes “up” at 11AM and it’s dark by 1-2pm. And it’s often so cloudy you don’t actually notice the sun for weeks at a time

The opposite happens in summer and you'll occasionally hear North Alaska and other Arctic regions labelled "the land if the midnight sun" Some interesting panoramic photos if your Google-fu is strong
