I know it’s convenient for the western narrative to believe that nobody in Russia likes Putin and that he rules out of fear, but they actually have a free press over there and Putin has over the past 23 years made massive improvements to Russia’s economy. It was Yeltsin that was a complete disaster. Most people are quite satisfied with Putin.
