Been using this for several years. If the website doesn’t accept an email with a +, you can also just add random periods to your email. Works the same.

The advantage is now you know who is selling your email (looking at you Comcast!) and you can just block the email that is getting spammed.

No. Gmail ignores all periods, not what comes after it (like it does for the +).

So goodboy.tools and goodboytools and g.oo.db.oy.t.ools are all the same to gmail.
