When I was little our address was 314. My dad requested our phone number, it was ###-3140.

Teach it to the tune of jingle bells. Much easier to remember.

My 5yo learnt my phone number by hearing me repeat it endlessly to real estate agents when we were house-hunting. In the end he was the one reciting it to the agents!

And please teach them your first and last names!! I work in retail and when a lost child tells you that mommy's name is Mommy it makes it incredibly hard to call you over the intercom.

As soon as my son could grasp the concept he was able to recite mom and dad's first and last names, our phone number and our address. Every time we were in a super busy or crowded place I would also be sure to point out the uniforms of employees/security guards as we walked around.

THIS. My kids knew our phone number at 2 years old b/c i sang it to the refrain of the Mickey Mouse song. A bit later they memorized my cell number with a song about the ancient King David that has only 5 words and a catchy tune (Kids learn it in religious school very early; it has silly hand gestures). By the time they were ready to memorize Dad's cell, they picked the song and wrote lyrics to go with the refrain.

I also pointed out street names and major intersections near our home when we were running errands until I was confident they knew how to name them.

When I taught my 3 year old her phone number and address, her 2 year old sister was listening and learned them also. It was amazing how easy it was for them to learn .

I used the tune of the ABC song to teach my kids my phone number when they were tiny. They are now in their 20s and still sing it to themselves when they write it down.

Too much effort, I had 2 kids so if one gets lost in a store I have a spare.

Yep! We made a rap for our phone number, and a song for our address. My barely four year old son (and older cousins) learned our numbers easily. Coincidently my niece sung my address to me a couple of days ago. I taught them the song over twenty years ago.
