Reply to comment by ChrisGeritol in LPT: Should you have an issue with a small appliance in your office or home office under warranty, be careful what you say when speaking to the warranty department for a replacement. by muadeebpaul
Darn right. Especially if the home business is just you, they will void your warranty. Learned that one the hard way.

Your home office IS your home, silly boy.

I used that same exact line to the warranty people. DENIED!!!!!

No, you screwed yourself over by yapping too much. "My coffeemaker died and I need to have it replaced under warranty." You don't need to tell them your life's story.

And now you understand the LPT. Sorry it took you so long to get it.

The LPT is "don't be you."

Always gotta be careful but if you are that often let you do crazy stuff. I bought a for parts Seagate hard drive on eBay and RMAed it. Seagate even sent me a new drive before I sent my old in because I told them it was a production environment that can't take much downtime.
