Do befriend a cop. They are humans that need positive influences in their life. Don't ask your cop friend to get you out of the consequences of committing a crime!

I'm not a cop, but do have a couple in the family. If I'm being abused by the police, I'm calling in a favor. If I fucked up and got pulled over for speeding, I'll call them after to tell them whether John or Jane Cop was a jerk or cool about it.
