Get a small HDMI male to female adapter .3m- .5m or 1/2ft - 1ft depending on location. This will save you from wearing out an expensive items HDMI port as you can keep the adapter semi permanently installed. If you need to move the expensive item you can then keep the adapter in place.

I will stress do not purchase the silly little adapters that don’t have a length to it as these when you go to pull a cable out to move your expensive item can cause movement on the port.

Make sure it's rated for the type of HDMI you need. 4K 60hz needs an HDMI 2.1 type adapter.

Aren't TVs made to be replaced every few years now? (It's been 15-16 yrs since I replaced mine, but I've been looking. They're crazy cheap now, but I can't imagine they outlast their HDMI ports.)

How do you break a HDMI port? I've literally never seen that happen outside of a kid trying to jam something else into the port

I've literally never had it happen to a port other than the power charge port in my PSP, which was dicky when I got it, and a piece of paper in between the battery and the port fixed that
