Thank you for that information. I live in Washington state and the officer explicitly told me it was optional and explained the consequences of declining the test. I'll edit my post.

You thinking you aren't impaired versus you actually being impaired are two different things. If you had been in an accident involving someone else the outcome would have probably been different. I think the better LPT would be to not drink and drive. I am friends with someone that was involved in an accident where he was drinking, it's not good. When I was in military they had classes and would let people do a test drive sober and then after one beer and compare the differences, it is a pretty obvious difference in reaction times.
