LPT Request: Reapplying Bumper Sticker

So, I totaled my car, and I peeled off a bumper sticker that I really liked. I want to re-stick it to my new vehicle, but it’s lost its adhesive backing. Any ideas on how to reapply it (to the glass/window, not directly on the paint)? I was thinking of putting packing tape over top of it, but I’m not sure how weatherproof that would be.

Not exactly an LPT, but oh well, maybe this information could be useful to someone else as well.

If you cannot recreate the bumper sticker, buy yourself some spray adhesive.

Best bet: take a pic and go to an online sticker website. Lots of them exist. You can recreate it there OR look online for a replacement.

The website is a good idea. I may try that. I can’t find any replacements online because I got it in some tiny city on a trip a couple years ago.

When I used to do bumper stickers, I would buy magnetic vent cover sheets and stick the bumper sticker to the magnet sheet. Then, I could stick the magnet to the car and swap out bumper stickers at will. The magnet sheets come with a white layer on front. If you peeled off that layer carefully, there would probably be enough adhesive residue to hold the bumper sticker in place. Or, you could use a spray adhesive. ...This is all probably more expensive than just buying a new sticker, though.

Make sure your vehicle is a metal it will stick to, though. My dad bought some beautiful, custom made vehicle magnets for his business. He went out and put them on his door...and it promptly fell to the ground. The look on his face...

Get it laminated. You can then stick it to the inside of the glass and reposition it whenever you want.
