Is fast progress the point of hobby? I don't think so. Getting private tutoring robs you of the best part of hobby - figuring stuff out yourself.

LPT: If you can afford it, always try and get private lessons in any hobby pastime or sports activity at the outset. You will usually end up building a solid foundation of the basics, avoid reinventing the wheel and make much faster progress.
