And just because you're not squinting doesn't mean you don't need eye protection.

You can't detect UV, but it'll degrade your vision just the same (tanning beds), even if your eyes are closed.

If Trump doesn't need to wear protective glasses to look at a solar eclipse, then I don't need to wear protective glasses for puny things like arc welding!

Your employer should be providing eye and ear protection. Use both. Take some disposable ear plugs home for use while mowing.
