This is not true. Not all cars have detachable headrests. Not all detachable headrests are sharp. Not all sharp detachable headrests are sharp enough to break a window.

If you’re concerned about being trapped in a sinking vehicle, buy a spring loaded car window breaker. They’re specifically designed for the task, dirt cheap and normally come with a built-in seatbelt cutter.

LPT: keep your window breaker/belt cutter in the centre console so that you can reach it if your seatbelt release button becomes jammed. Bonus points if you can keep it in a lidded compartment so that you don’t lose it in a rollover.

Yeah, except if your just for emergencies tip is inconsistent and flawed then maybe it’s not a good tip if it means precious seconds could be wasted trying to get an unmovable headrest out. At least preface it with saying to check your car or something lmao

That's actually good advice! Know what you car can and can't do before you use it a lot, might actually save your life.

Dude car windows are hard as shit to break; a headrest post MIGHT do it if one is lucky. Keep a spring punch in the car where you can grab it while strapped in.
