This would rule out a lot of athletic shoes, shoes sub $100, not to mention that a lot of dressier options have fake stitching to throw people off.

I hate fake stitching, like seriously they put in all that effort to make it look real when they could have just made it real.

My Columbia hiking shoes lost their soles with very low wear anywhere else on the shoe. I took them to a cobbler and they glued and stitched the soles on both for $30. I've been wearing them for work 3x/week for over a year and they are holding up great.

I am a big fan of Columbia shoes myself. I didn't know you could do that with them.

Would also eliminate crepe soles for chelsea boots which are like walking on clouds. Great if you live in a walkable city like NYC.
