And why would anyone give a shit what their family member is doing? Unless, again, it's a 14yo scamming people and the mother makes them return the money or something. Like, what do you think, a 30yo scammer just goes "alright here's your money back my mama slapped me hope ur happy"?

I once was owed almost 700E by a friend which he refused to pay back for two years. At that point I was tired of it and decided to message some of his family members through fb, the next day he brought the money to my house. So depending on the situation this can be extremely effective.
