The point of waxing is so you don’t have to trim it constantly. As long as you’re not jamming it way in there and just getting the bits closest to the outside you’ll be fine while still preserving the hairs in the canal that do the ever important work we take for granted.

I love the feeling of my bushy ear hairs flowing in the wind.

Plucking the hair also seems like a perfect opportunity to allow infection in too.
