Commercial flights are a necessity. The government will intervene at some point and bail all of them out.

We NEED airports functioning properly, not punished. Employees need to be recognized and rewarded. Airlines need efficiency.

So how is that efficiency served by rewarding ill-prepared organizations with continued business? Their bad leaders don't leave easily. Airlines merge and die. Passeneger travel is mostly a manufactured demand, people don't really need to fly everywhere, it's a convenience and luxury. Commercial freight is a different consideration.
