If you organize it in the bin (all forks together, etc) it’s even faster. But to each their own.

That's a good idea thanks, how about spoons? Would they be more likely to nest in dishwasher and not get clean?

Key is obviously to not overload but yes they’ll get cleaned. Now I do a lot of pre rinse so basically my dishwasher is just a sanitizer. I also load utensils handle side up for faster unload.

My utensils bin loads from front to back. I load scissors and spatulas in back, knives, spoons, forks, and then kids wares.

Having 2 or 3 silver baskets makes it even eaiser - one can sit in sink and silver popped right in at point of use. Or a clean basket of silver can sit out to pull from when needed. Saves on loading time and unloading time!

Our cutlery bin is divided into sections and we “try” to sort as they go in. Doesn’t always work with small kids in the house, but it helps speed things along at the end.

Lol, what? I just take the whole tray with me to the drawer.... This seems like extra steps

I found it faster and less steps. Pulling the utensils out of tray is basically one or two at a time and slowed down because of watching out for fork tines and knife points. Once on counter you can grab say 4 or 5 forks at a time. Ended up about half as much movement and about half time as the old way. Granted it's only about 15 seconds time savings twice a week, but i thought it was cool.
