LPT: Old contact lens cases are a handy way to transport small amounts of liquid, lotions or salves. This allows you to fit more things into your suitcase and also bypass hassles at the airport (US).

I have a ton of old contact lens cases. I also use makeup remover that’s in a bottle that is bigger than one can take on a US flight. Fill the lens cases with makeup remover, pack a cotton swab and use the swab to soak up the eye makeup remover when you’re ready to use it.

They are also great for storing earrings, for example. And I've heard people use them for paint, mixing paint in them and storing it.

Yep, that's what i use them for! More specifically india ink or whatever it's called in english. A very deep black paint that i don't need much of anyhow.

Pro - pro tip: if you lose the lid, european PET bottle corks should fit the threading.
