What material are your countertops?

We had cheap countertops in our last place. We primed them, painted them with standard paint, added some paint chips for texture, then poured epoxy on them and let it harden. They turned out really good for a cheap DIY project. We were also prepared though to pay someone to replace them had the epoxy not set right.
