They make mattress warmers that are designed to be safe between you and the mattress. However, do not use them with memory foam

From what you’ve written here, it seems like you might want to read up on the differences between electric over-blankets and electric under-blankets. Hopefully you’re using your as it’s meant to be used.

I'm pretty sure this is HORRIBLE advice. Electric blankets can cause heat stroke and fires. Putting it under your body would seem to only make it worse.

Unless your electric blanket is torn up or old af, they are very safe to use. As with anything electric, keep any liquids away. I've slept with it on on max setting under a goose down/feather duvet. Rather heatstroke than getting cold imo, I hate the cold.

Liquids like sweat from sleeping on top of an electric blanket? Okay.

Heated mattress cover.

Amazing. Climb into a nice heated bed with warm sheets.

North Dakotan here. I am no stranger to the electric blanket.

To be honest, not really sure why you were having problems. But, I think I know why. Up here in the frozen tundra, it's normal to have a quilt or bedspread on top, the electric blanket, then the sheets. So, the blanket, with the cords is under the quilt, ya know? Because it's not pretty, and back in the old days, they were scratchy material as well.

I bought a king size one a few years ago. not scratchy. Does feel nice on the skin, but never had issues with the cords, has super long ones.

And this is OK with the manufacturer's instructions?

Spouse just got me a heated mattress cover and I love it! Went from being piled so high with blankets that I could hardly move to having a sheet and comforter like a normal person (spouse likes to sleep in a cold room). Might you, this is meant to go under the fitted sheet. Make sure yours is too or there may be a fire risk.
