Hi all! I wanted to make my own local book club and invite anyone who's interested.

What? Book club! If I do get a good group going, we could take turns selecting books we want to read. Ideally I'd like to read a variety of genres, and both fiction and non fiction. The book I chose for next month is Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. It's sci-fi.

Where? My home, right across the river in Dracut.

When? Tuesday, December 13 at 7:30pm. This gives you a month to find a copy (physical, audiobook, or ebook) and read it.

Why? Any reason you want! Want to read more? Join us! Just want book related conversation? That's ok too!

I’m in! Not usually much of a sci-fi reader but I’m a librarian so I love to read new things!

sounds pretty cool! I've been meaning to have an excuse to get back to jumpstart on reading again, I'm totally down for It!

That’s cool, thanks for the invite.

If you wanted to try something out, you could do a virtual book club too.

Pick the book and make a few posts to raise awareness and get people to join. You could post on /r/uml too if you want more exposure.

Then at the predetermined time you can do a live chat from this sub, discuss the book.

I would be able to participate in that, and more than happy to help, if you decide the idea is interesting

Oh my goodness I'm not sure I could handle more exposure! I thought maybe three people would be interested. My house is not that big haha.

Good ideas though, and I'll consider them for the future. But I'd prefer to keep this first meeting as a host....cozy? Cozy doesn't feel like the right word.
