I've been trying to make friends in Lowell but it's so hard. I'm a very shy person and get easily anxious. I got to UMass Lowell but still..so hard.

Pick a club you're interested in and join that. That's probably the most straightforward way.

I have been near Lowell and it has been the biggest challenge for me ever since. I have tried this sub and even discord. I consider myself an extrovert and still it is so damn hard. So far I have been able successfully had a decent conversation with 0 people let alone be friend.

I hear you. DM me if you to talk. I go to School in Boston but I live right on the outskirts of lowell.

There are some student discords for UML! Some of them have done meet ups in the past. Lots of nice people and ways to connect over common interests and stuff!

I've really struggled with this since I moved here a year and a half ago from out of state as well... though I'm in a different age demographic. It doesn't help that my job is fully remote.

Being a young adult, this generation is kind of like a hive mind, same style, same music, same car interest, same vocabulary speech. Young Lowell people just party, smoke weed and drink. That's all they do.

I can't find anyone in Lowell who has the same interest as me. There are people around who I have absolutely no similar interest but they're fun. Not having similar interests makes it harder for me to talk to people

It could probably be a me problem also, maybe I don't know how to talk in general
