However, you do need to do that in person, and vote in person at this point. So depending on your own schedule, show up when the polls open, or immediately after work.
Or vote in person at your town/city hall up through November 3rd! Good way to beat election day lines.
Yep, I plan on going there after work. I just wanted to clarify because voting isn't super-familiar territory for me yet and I mailed in my voter registration in the previous city I lived in vs. doing it in-person. Thank you!

And for those of you using mail in ballots, please remember the Trump appointed Postmaster whose job it is to slow down and ultimately dismantle the USPS, and whom has been largely successful at decreasing the postal service efficiency.
If you must mail in your ballot, please do it very early!
The deadline for mail-in is this Tuesday, Nov 1. However, at this point I would not trust the postal service for this and take the mail-in ballot to your local drop box, which is generally at City/Town Hall. Some larger cities may have some in other locations.
Agreed. Also, please (!!!) educate yourself before you vote. Not on YouTube or fringe sites, but sources with credibility. Learn about the issues and then vote based on that. It doesn't take that long.
There really isn't any nuance in this general election unless you have a third party/independent candidate in the mix for your location. Between the two major parties, there is a stark difference, practically a day and night amount of separation between the policies of the two.
Very true. Another reason it's important to educate yourself with legitimate sources (i.e., not YouTube conspiracy channels or your drunk uncle on FB). Also, the city I live in has a million ballot questions this time, many of which are quite complicated.
Ah, I don't live in that city. Mine had... none. Those were all handled in the primaries.
It was super easy to vote in person at Town hall, I pass by it at least twice a day, in and out under 10 minutes. Much easier then waiting at the community center which has like 20 small 1950s style parking spots in an already small parking lot, surrounded by 1 way streets, people walking in the middle of the parking lot, then you have to get in the building without getting hit by the greatest generation in the parking lot. You’re in but now you have to go down a series of Cold War era stair wells into a massive basketball court/off broadway stage and occasional election hq. Waiting in line surrounded by tables and people who have been sitting for far to long. The reserve police officer is guarding the refreshment table and secret uncounted ballots hidden under a sheet. It always ends with me writing my name in for everything town related and exiting out and oddly placed exit at the end of a long hall way with civil defense stickers still on the doors, some how right next to my car.

When you moved, you should have let the DMV know and you'd get a sticker for the back of your license with the new address, until a replacement can be made and mailed to you. Go take care of that regardless of voting.

In practice, a driver's license with the correct address on it, a signed lease or mortgage paperwork or utility bill in your name mailed to the address of residence.
I have a Class A CDL that makes my license a bit more than just updated online or mail. And the times I have tried to go and get it updated in Augusta I have had my time wasted.
Then my best advise is to reach out to your city/town's Clerk's Office and ask them what you'll need as they are the final arbiter unless you prefer to go all the way to the Secretary Of State's office. They may say that proof residency in the form of the lease/mortgage paperwork and/or utility bill in your name for your residence is enough. Or property tax bills if you own.
From what I have read/Seen, it will come down to younger people turning out and voting. Midterm turnout is historically low compared to Presidential years.

My mail-in ballot hasn't arrived yet, ordered on the 14th. Yeah, we'll drop them at the town office, not in the mail.

I ordered one last month.. but I managed to lose it. (When it arrived I was pretty sick. I must have put it somewhere 'safe'. So it's here somewhere but I was told it was too late to turn it in now anyway.)

You absolutely can. Your name doesn't get checked off as having voted until you turn in the ballot.So if you haven't actually turned in the ballot, you can show up in person.
I'm registered in Portland but recently moved to Auburn, planning on registering same day. Do you know if I need to bring a piece of mail to verify address?
Should work. If you have a utility bill in your name for the new address that's better.

Does the designated polling location take completed voter registration cards? Or does it vary by town and location? I filled mine out, but I missed the 21-day window to be able to mail it in and I'm a night owl so I haven't been able to go to City Hall and drop it off. I'd get an absentee ballot but 1) it's way too late, also mail delays and 2) me and a friend are going out on Election Day anyway and she offered to take me to the polls because she wants to vote too.
