Hi all, I wanted to get the bivalent booster this week in advance of a large in person meetup and thought it would be pretty easy (I had no problems last year scheduling day-of with my first booster). However on both the Hannaford and Walgreens sites the stores in the Bath/Brunswick area don't even show up as an option, and the earliest appointments are for stores 20+ miles away a week from now. Is there a supply issue? Has anyone had success with walk-ins somewhere? Thank you :)

edit - thanks so much everyone for the suggestions! After no luck at Shaws, Walmart, CVS, either, I finally was able to get an appointment through my PCP - the Midcoast Bath location has a bunch of appointments over the next few days (Pfizer) if anyone needs them soon :)

Covid vaccine locations are allocated a certain amount of vaccine per week. Availability will vary by locale and the flow of patient traffic (if the locale takes walk ins) or scheduled appointments

I'm going to a CVS in Portland during lunch next week. Waiting another 10 days beat having to pick up the phone and call anywhere

Went to my doctor for a foot sore (Martin's Point) the other day and I was able to get it there, although it was in limited supply.

None of the Hannie's near me offers it. You might want to ask your doctor and schedule an appointment there.

MP also has vaccine clinics although I'm not sure if they're just restricted to patients or not.

I got a same day appointment at 81 Medical Center Drive in Brunswick. I think it's a branch of Maine Health.

Despite signs up at the Augusta Shaw's saying no appointment necessary, when I asked, they said I would have to book an appointment. Shaw's, Hannaford, CVS, and Walgreens right in the area didn't show any appointments until well into the next week. But I did see an opening same day for the Walgreens in Fairfield, so I took the half hour drive and got it done.

Did you try the Walmart Pharmacy in Brunswick?

Most Walmarts got vaccines last Friday…

Thanks! I did, it doesn’t give me any availability or even the chance to book far in advance. Just says no vaccines at that location. So weird!

Oh bummer!

I’ve had Moderna vax right along, but could only get Pfizer bivalent (which is fine).

Walmart told me to book my flu shot and ask about COVID vax then. It worked out.

My doc didn’t have COVID or flu vaccine. Something’s off with that supply chain.

I hope you can find a vaccine.

Martin’s Point is having a clinic next Wednesday. Call to schedule though it may be full. I got mine at Shaws. Scheduled it online and it took a couple weeks. I don’t know of any walk-ins anywhere.

Most locations seem to have only Pfizer or Moderna, not both. If you are being precious about which one you get you may have to travel further.

Have you checked Shaw's or CVS? If they require on-line scheduling, try checking in first thing in the morning.

I got mine at CVS a few weeks back but I think more people are lining up now.

Yes, no appointments at Shaw’s that I can book for any date; the only CVS appointment showing is in Cape Elizabeth week after next weirdly.

When I got my booster, the pharmacy people said they were booked. She told a guy there to check online every morning when they open up new appointments. Kind of like when the vaccines were first rolled out.
