My kiddos school was dismissed early and virtual last week due to the same thing. They kept them for lunch first though. My poor kiddo practically ran to the car and didn't wanna go back.

It sucks to say, but there should be real consequences to these threats. To my knowledge, at my kiddos school, they don't even know who it was from though. Kids shouldn't feel unsafe (like their schools going to blow up at any minute, any day) in their learning environment.

Your kid's school handled the situation better than mine.

After all, if a bomb threat is called and it's located inside the school, what's a safer place to go than...to stay inside the school, cramped in a tiny little room, instead of outside and away from the bomb as much as possible?

Oh, they did stay inside. Locked down, then sent to the cafeteria for lunch, then released them. They should definitely have evacuated the building as soon as it was brought to light. But they didn't. I can't see what I wrote previously so sorry if I'm saying anything confusing.
