the timing was great. i thought i lucked out having the big rig going by under the sunrise but when i looked through the viewfinder and saw a smaller boat coming into frame, too, i was doubly psyched

This is anything but lame. I immediately sent it to my father, we used to go out there when hurricanes were offshore especially to watch waves crashing. No longer living in SoPo makes me miss this kind of image so much, thank you for posting it.

wow that’s neat! i’m glad you liked the photo. i’m one of those people who is irrationally afraid of open waters, so i cannot imagine even being that far out, much less within proximity to a hurricane lol… i can send you a couple more if you/your father would like to see. this one was my favorite
