I’d be lying if I said I was surprised that all the publicly posted Mills campaign signs on 202 in Winthrop and Manchester have been nicked. Minus the one very clearly crossed out with a LePage sign next to it. In an election season with candidates and their families being assaulted by right wing agitators it was only a matter of time before voter intimidation came here too.
My ma had a sign that just said “VOTE” stolen from outside her house.
I had the same thought driving up 202. “Hmm someone spray painted 🚫 on the Mills sign and there’s a fresh LePage sign right next to it—wonder who it could have been…”
There’s a few kicked down around Lewiston too.
People that vote Republican are dumb, end of story.
Saw someone plucking Tavis Hasenfus signs on Annabessacook rd last week. Gray Toyota Tacoma. Have regretted not calling him in since.

And while on the topic of roadside signs, I'm sorry "Burke's Roofing and Masonry" I didn't realize I'd run over your sign until I looked in the mirror. That was an honest accident.
In 2020 plenty of Trump signs were stolen or defaced. Assholes bigots and haters are found in both parties.

It’s a valid argument. I saw a ton of ‘Fuck Trump’ when he was president and lots of people (on both sides) pointed out that the farther we go down this road, the worse it is for everyone.
All my neighbors LePage signs were splashed with like house paint or something, puddles of paint under the signs.
I’d say it’s mostly Republican signs being stolen vandalized . But yea sure occasionally a democrat sign may be targeted
Democratic candidates are being assaulted in their homes. Republicans aligned militias are standing outside ballot drop boxes with assault rifles.

Paul pelosi was attacked by a Canadian visa over stay. Apparently there was a blog with the same name that has been taken down by it's host, but no one has confirmed it was his. The state Senate candidate was attacked by an unknown assailant who was trying to break into his garage... And because of a spray painted but mostly unreadable in the rain message weeks before he thinks it's political...
But of a leap in both those cases to call them right wing agitators...

I was I think we need an anti-intimidation force that dresses up in costume, hands out candy and pre-rolls, and thanks people for participating in the democratic duty to vote.
