Some out-of-state hunter is not going to wind up in Matawamkeag unless somebody from Maine told him about it and showed him where to go

Absolutely they could. It's not that remote of a place. Right on rt2 fairly close to 95

I don’t know if you’ve ever gone to another state before but if you’re an unfamiliar territory it’s really unlikely that you just get out of your car and start hunting somewhere. Somebody local was involved in this.

I've hunted Montana, Virginia, Colorado and Pennsylvania without a guide. Did research, google earth and gave myself a few days pre-season to scout the areas I looked at online. Every hunt was successful. Not difficult task
