Hi all,

Mind answering an anonymous and very short, quick 5-question survey about food preferences Edit: vs income? All single choice, no typing. Should only take a minute or less.

It's for a class I'm taking at EMCC. Hope it's okay to post this here. I'll post the results, if anyone is interested. Thanks in advance!

Edit #2 11/09/2022: Wow. There has been quite a large response, and I appreciate you all for taking time to help. Thank you, everyone. And thanks to all those who quietly participated, as well. I will post and update in a few days with the raw data, interpretations, lessons learned, etc.

Type of food choices are difficult to respond. Fast food and casual fast, or whatever, are the same thing to me. I see no difference in a McDonalds and a Chipolte. Casual sit down you list Applebees and other chains. Applebees diners should be their own category, because generally speaking, these people have zero taste or class. When I think of casual dining, I think of local restaurants. Applebees to fine dining is quite a long road. I checked fine dining, because I couldn't bring myself to select anything with Applebees as an example.

EDIT: I don't know where you live, but using Robert's Maine Grill in Kittery as an example, would you consider this on the same level as Applebees, somewhere in the middle, or fine dining?

Thank you for your detailed response. The survey is part of an exercise in exploring data collection methods and to compare/contrast pros/cons. It isn't going to be in any peer reviewed, statistically significant/sound study.

I agree with your points, and I figured before-hand that it, along with the health question, were going to be the problem areas due to the subjectivity. They're obviously not quantitative like the first two.

With that said, again with a grain of salt, the food preference question was an attempt to assign a loose monetary value to the meals, while still trying to capture nutritional value. It was not meant in any way to place a label on your character via food preference. In retrospect, this should have been split into two questions. There is obviously a problem with the original question and thank you for confirming that for me.

I appreciate you taking the time.
