I’ve never met a person, Republican or Dem, who has met him in person and subsequently liked him. I know a lot of people who have worked with him, or dealt with him in one capacity or another and they all say the same thing - insufferable, narcissistic, miserable asshole.

I’ve met him. He was actually super charming. But I know what he stands for and has said and I find him to be a complete piece of trash. But he’s smart and funny. I can see liking him.

Yeah my dad met him since he went to BIW and my dad was working there and happened to be able to talk to him. I'm not sure the specifics on what was going on but my dad just hates him

Met him when he was ceo of Mardens. I worked there right before his election. He was going around giving the Christmas bonus checks with Dave Marden. He used this as a way to try and get votes. He was trying to rally all employees to vote for him. He was nice to everyone, but i know it was fake. Looks like the camera added 60lbs to his face in comparison to what he actually looks like.

Last I heard, he called her an elitist, said some shit like "you prioritize abortion over shit like heating oil costs?", either the news or he himself said he conceded, then he did a "hold the fuck up" and backpedaled his ass and said he doesn't concede.

If this is a projection, I hope they call her the winner, because if they do, I'm gonna bust my other lung.

EDIT: CNN's called it from my understanding. The audio equipment at wherever he was giving a speech is coming down. Funny thing is, he said he was gonna accept the election outcome...sure, when I fly off the roof and into space with a pair of angelic wings.

Been looking at the maps and a lot of smaller places are trending more D than they usually do and, where R leads or came out ahead, they didn't come out that far ahead. Basically looks like most of the state is going 50/50ish with a slight lead for R and Portland and the coast are anchoring the larger D lead.

Mills won it by 2100 votes this time. She actually increased her lead over what it was against Moody in 2018.

I noticed that probably 90% of the towns in Maine went more D than they did in 2020. Even if they still ultimately went R for LePage. My own town went R+6 in 2022 and R+7 in 2020. Thought it was interesting

This has always been the way it works. By looking at WHERE the already counted vote is coming from (precincts put in all their counted votes at once, so they are done counting when they submit), people can determine what's left to count. You can then match that up with voting registration records to know if areas left to count are predominantly GOP or DEM, and then look at the turn out in those places. If it's heavier than expected, well... there you go.

There have been almost no races ever called that switched back. The only prominent one in my lifetime was Bush versus Gore, when it was called for Bush, but the count in Florida kept edging closer and closer, and it switched back and forth after that. Gore ended up ahead, and probably would have been the winner if not for Supreme Court intervention when they were doing the final hand vote counting. The previous count of limited districts gave Bush the state by some tiny margin.
