That is a gentrified neighborhood right there Bub, using typar...real Mainers use good ol' 15 lb tarpaper.

If you have an old house with barn board sheathing you might want to consider using tarpaper over typar. I read an article about it recently in Fine Homebuilding, it boils down to vapor permeability. You basically don’t want to trap moisture in the sheathing. If it’s plywood you need to use typar

The permeability of #15 felt is 6 dry 10 wet I read some where. Builders don't use it because it tears to easy not because of it's performance.

I don't think most of us have the money to buy Fine Homebuilding but good tip next time we're redoing the house bub.
