They’re trying to whitewash the outhouse now that their asses are on the line with the vote.

Fuck em, throw the bums out. Too little, too late- don’t believe the lipstick on the pig.

Anyone in southern Maine with a heat pump not use it for air conditioning in July? That's half the reason I got a heat pump. Suck out that humid air.

we run ours in dehumidify mode, which runs the compressor significantly less. taking the humidity out of the air makes 78 to 80 much more tolerable...

I need to see if I have that option. The article said something about people using a heat pump in the Summer would not benefit from this program. I thought to myself, who in Southern Maine would buy a heat pump and not use it in the Summer? It's been really hot!

Thanks. I still use the HP for heat in May and October! Shoulder months is a great reason to have a heat pump. Winter I prefer the wood stove for better hotter heat.

Heat pumps have no indoor/outdoor air exchange as part of their process. No humid air is getting "sucked" out.

When my heat pump runs (Summer or Winter) the big register on the floor('return air') sucks in air, filters it, conditions it and then sends it back through the vents. If not sucked out then it's sucked down into the basement and comes back nice and cool!

You have a ducted system then, the air is cooled by your indoor unit in what sounds like your basement, then ducted upstairs.

What does the article say? Don’t wanna pay for access

CMP Website

Looks like pay a higher service charge and a higher bill in the summer to get a discounted rate in the winter.

Try this.

Basically they are going to offer heat pump owners (up to 5K spots) a special seasonal heat pump rate or there's a technology rate that's for year round use.

Nah. Vote for the state to take over distribution. Shouldn’t be private.

I’m not always happy with CMP but I’m not sure if the state of maine would do a better job or if it would end up being cheaper. State workers require a lot more benefits!

Based off my rough math at roughly 1000 kWh a month averaged (far more in winter) the ETR would save nearly $300, heat pump rate $150.

I’ll take it.
