Cheapmedcards is where it's at.

Cheapmedcards does rapid renewal now. It was as easy as checking a box that essentially says “Same as last year?” and then confirming the reason you’re requesting it. They emailed me a picture of my card and I got it in the mail a few days later.

I had my renewal that was a text message asking if this was a renewal. That was it. Can’t beat it.

A lot of dispensaries will have specials where you can get your card there and some deals. Get Weedmaps and look at what's in your area.

I've used them twice so far. I haven't had an issue but individual experiences can vary 🤷‍♂️. I do know that there are cheaper options out there tbough.

I've used it too just fine, however I've noticed dispensaries no longer take rhe emailed copy so you still can't instantly use it

That is true, I got mine in about 4 days both times as well so it wasn't too terrible

Use CheapMedCards, not a scam.. I mean it is in the sense that we live in a world where I text chatted with an actual Doctor for 2 minutes and paid 40 dollars for someone to deem it "safe" to give me pot but our prison system is full of people who were incarcerated for selling the same thing. I think a lot of the med cards thing seem shady because it's really silly in the first place but most are legit. Saul Goodman was a lawyer..

Haven't used quickmedcards, but I used cheapmedcards and they were great. 40 bucks and 5 minutes later, I had a pdf I could use, and less than a week later, a card. That said, the comments have it. Most of the medical dispensaries around here usually have a day of the week where someone is in the store for people to get a med card. I'd just look around at the medical dispensaries and find one that's having a deal day.

Just go into any dispensary and ask about getting a med card if the sketchy website isn’t working for you

I've never seen so many stoners struggle to obtain weed in my life before this sub.

Right? I just go over to my best friends house, they grow their own. No card necessary! Way cheaper than the stores too!

Medical dispensaries will often work alongside caregivers to offer in-house mmj prescriptions, which is what the card is.

Just call a few med dispos near you and ask if they offer medical cards, I doubt you'd end up calling any more than 3!

Used them when weed was first legalized for medical use. Yes it was quick and easy, never had a problem with them.

For my most recent card I used Jolly Green Health after getting some obnoxious questions during my renewal from the person I had previously used. Would recommend them. Was quick and easy and price was about the same as everyone is charging ($40 or $50, can’t remember which).

I’ve used quickmedcards and cheapmedcards for renewal with no problem. But the last few years I’ve gone with Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine (MMCM) and I find it very easy and friendly.

Cheap med cards- I've used them. Not a scam.

If you go to Acadia cannabis in Bangor they have a nurse on staff. You just show up talk to her, pay the $40 and leave with your card in hand.

Quickmedcards is pretty good since you get a physical card and I use it for other states. I used their price beat here Quickmedcards.

Will someone explain like I'm 5 here?

Why is there still a need for this if weed is now legal? Not being sarcastic, I really don't understand.

Some dispensaries only sell medical use weed which still requires a card. Often towns will balk at the idea of a recreational use weed shop but are fine letting a medical use shop open. So both exist in Maine and are subject to different rules and taxes.

cobaltcrazy207 t1_j119xbx wrote

Nevermind the fact that you can get a medical card with no actual examination, it's essentially a $50 tax that sounds slightly better than saying you use recreationally.

I like to think about it as a mug club, I pay $50 a year and get much less expensive products. I've done the math, it still saves me money. Plus, with a med card you have some legal protections in certain environments (e.g., certain work conditions, etc.).

derpingandlurking t1_j11ecwg wrote

Only downside I have seen is that you cannot buy a firearm while having a med card

idkwtfiad t1_j11ip3a wrote

This is a myth. Maine does not maintain a registry of people with med cards, and there is no law in Maine that prevents someone with a med card from purchasing a gun.

Lying on Form 4473 about drug use, however, is illegal, and would apply equally whether you have a med card or use recreational cannabis products.

5

derpingandlurking t1_j11ja6x wrote

My understanding of it is in context to the form for the background check so that makes sense as it is a “lying crime” vs something that would be immediately caught. Thanks for clarifying.
