Parents live town over in Appleton. If you have never driven on Appleton ridge I highly encourage it, it's really beautiful up there.
If you want to go hiking I would suggest maiden's cliff. It over looks megunticook lake on one side and all of Camden / the ocean on the other.
Speaking of camden, it's a nice lil quaint town with shops in stuff. If you like tacos I highly suggest visiting the jack. I grew up with the head chef his street tacos are really good.
If you want to see a lighthouse I would suggest walking the breakwater in Rockport. It's about a mile long walk out into the ocean, so I wouldn't suggest it on a windy day.
Feel free to DM me any questions, and I hope you enjoy your time in the Midcoast area!

The breakwater is sus during winter. I went on Christmas day and thought better than to go out. One slip, and you're a gonner. But maybe at low tide on one of these 50 degree days we have been having? It's probably better to just trek over to Owls Head if you feel like driving.
Maiden cliff should be fine. Wear spikes, take trekking poles, and stay away from the cliff itself. We don't need a reason for a second cross up there. Also, I would turn around and come back at the cliff instead of continuing on. It turns into a bit of a scramble afterward. However, Mount Meginticook trail from the state park is safe all the way up (with spikes, at least).
