I am very likely misinformed on this - but I thought this funding was part of the Omnibus bill that passed the senate in December that Collins did in fact vote for. If I am wrong about this and she actually did vote against it I will most definitely be writing her an email asking for an explanation - but wanted to make sure I understood things a little better before doing so. However, I would not be surprised in the slightest if this is in fact true...

Edit: Oops. Forgot to say Susan voted against the ARP

I’m still confused.. what did she vote against and when?

The American Rescue Plan in March 2021. She also voted for the Omnibus which just passed last month. Some money from that is going towards this project too but I don't think that's the money being spent on it yet. It could be but the ink is barely dry so probably not. So we can look forward to another Susan Collins press release regurgitated by local tv stations when it is.

that's not the bill that funds this grant.

So when they said "Earlier this year, Auburn allocated $3 million from its share of the American Rescue Plan Act toward the estimated $8.6 million project." they didn't mean the American Rescue Plan? So what did they mean?

last april auburn city council decided to earmark 3 million from their covid-19 stimulus package towards a new police activities league facility.

the facility will cost roughly 9 million total.

the city has raised 2 million or so through philanthropy.

rougly 3 million more was needed.

susan collins earmarked 3 million from the omnibus spending bill last month towards the PAL center.

the new PAL center breaks ground this spring.

But she's a real Mainer man. She lives like three months a year in Bangor. Much better than that carpet bagger Sara Gideon.

Didn’t she sell her house in Bangor because she was scared of people playing with sidewalk chalk?

She also buys stocks and bonds based on the state of affairs in Maine. She's trash.

I know that this is going to come as a shock, but ALL politicians are a "political fraud".

Some are corporate slimeballs and are upfront about their harmful intentions. And people still vote for them. So, not exactly sure if they're a fraud.

OP, maybe you would change more peoples minds if you didn't pointlessly editorialize the title of your post. When you come out the gate swinging with emotions, it makes you look emotional. Not factual.

I appreciate Susan's work. I don't know much about this specific thing. Your post could have done a lot more to spread factual, clear information.

So do that next time, if you want to get your info out there.

It was a tweet not an article. I can editorialize a tweet however I want. I can also have opinions, be "emotional" and "come out the gate swinging" if I want.

You should work harder to not be a condescending, controlling douche bag.

So do that next time and every time. Have a nice day.

edit: btw, I usually include "fuck Susan Collins and everyone who voted for her" in any Susan Collins post by me or someone else. Maybe I should stick to that so people don't get confused. She could cure cancer but that won't change her vote for Kavanaugh, her phony "moderate" status or how I feel about her.

Interesting they didn't mention that in the video. They did mention covid relief funds at the very end after the Collins hit.

Why? I'm not wrong. She voted against ARPA which is partially funding the project. Also, she is a fraud.
