What kind of "insurance"??

Medical? Car? Liability? Homeowners? Business? Malpractice?

I hate their commercials but I got a great deal on car, bike and homeowners insurance from Liberty Mutual. I called Charlie Longo in Bangor.

This increase seems targeted for sure.

Although with the number of cars sliding off the roads and into each other in each storm, I can see the risk/rates for the entire state increasing more than usual next year.

My rate for our 2017 Lincoln mkx went from $1037 to $1916. I argued with the agent saying this is crazy. Inflation was his answer. I’ve been with charmers insurance out of Bridgton since 2008.

I’ll have to check that thanks. A quick search online shows that the rates are going up like this everywhere. I tried shopping years ago but it can be hard to compare apples to apples.

We change between carriers every year. I hold no loyalty to any insurance company because it’s always best to shop around. We pay about $450 every 6 months for 2 Subarus with comprehensive coverage and a $250 deductible. Usually I found progressive or gieco to be cheapest and avoid State Farm because they are always 200-300$ more expensive every 6 months.

Do you have a family member who recently got their license? Our insurance doubled the year my son started driving. It turned out the insurance co. had put his name on the titles. (It still went up, but not as significantly.) I ended up switching to MMG which has been good to us.

That's a damn cheap deductible. We have two Honda civics, 2 drivers with comprehensive, and we pay 370 every six months but our deductible hovers between 750-1000. We usually bounce between progressive and Geico. Is that who you're with?

Yes, right now we have progressive. We had them last year too, but gieco before that. We go on the site about a week or two before our policy expires and get a new quote to see who is cheaper. I tried MetLife, but even with my organization discount it was about $25-30 more a month. I tried bundling with my home owners and it cost more to have them bundled than to have it separate. My progressive insurance even includes a 15 mile roadside towing as well.

I will say, comprehensive came in handy when a mouse got into my turbo on my car and got sucked in. It blew my turbo. But there was a rodent clause in my policy that covered it. I just paid $250 for a new turbo ($1800).

I just dropped Acuity for my business liability insurance. My policy I’ve had with them for 15 years almost doubled in the last couple years. I went to a different agent and they showed me 3 other policies from other companies that were about 40% less than acuity. I’ve never had a claim with acuity, and my business income has been steady…they just decided to increase my policy in the hopes I wouldn’t notice, I guess.

Geico has been awful allegedly due to inflation. Started with $85 a month full coverage insurance on my 2018 VW. Every year they raised it up $25. Called state farm and got a full coverage rate of $70

Shop around. I got at huge rate decrease by switching to Progressive last fall, but I also heard from a friend that their Progressive rate went way up. I fully expect a big rate jump on my next renewal, so I'm going to preprare to shop around again.

That’s how I’m feeling about the increase. The agent told on the phone yesterday he shopped 9 different companies. Little does he know I have a family member who could see on their screen that never happened

We just recently switched to a company called branch, we have a 2020 mustang gt, 2022 Toyota Corolla cross and a 2012 tacoma on the policy with full coverage and $500 deductibles on all vehicles, we ended up with higher coverage amounts then Geico, we pay 660 for 6 month coverage.
