I wish you could set the LED color depending on the layer. Also I wish you could make the upper right knob twist left and right for moving down and up layers, respectively, but that seems harder to do.

The LED thing, I think, is not possible with Vial, but I'm not sure. I think you can definitely do the layers thing. In Vial, each knob's + and - action is configurable, including layer switch. Definitely possible!
