Build specs:
- Mode Sonnet with grey top, gold bottom, brass accent, brass internal weight
- Durock v2 stabs
- Gateron Oil King switches
- GMK Moonlight keycaps
Love it already. I'm coming from a full layout so the 75% layout takes a little adjustment, but the typing feel and gaming responsiveness feel great on the Oil Kings.
If anyone has questions about the Mode specs and how they influenced the board, feel free to ask.

Do you think the brass weight affects sound? I have an all copper one but simply got copper weight due to the theme even though it doesn’t show. I didn’t do a test with and without the weight.

My impression is it does, and the brass absorbs a bit of the high-end. I watched this video comparing aluminum/brass/copper, and I can hear a bit more of a difference between aluminum and the other two, but brass and copper sounded extremely similar in that demo to me. So I picked the brass to go with the rest of the build, and because Mode is discontinuing the brass but keeping the copper, so I figured if I changed my mind later the brass would be better to already have on hand.

Oh they are discontinuing brass for everything in the future?

Yeah, they announced discontinuing some parts (including all brass) in the February update recently. I'd guess copper won out in popularity between the two. The gold aluminum bottom is actually really close in tone to the brass accent in person too, so maybe they decided the brass didn't have enough of a unique angle to keep on.

Beautiful board! Love the colors you chose. After I get the zoom65 in May I think this will be my next board I go for. How does it sound? Any mods on the inside?

Thank you! I've really been enjoying it in the first couple days of full use. Here's the exact build code if you'd like to see more of the internals with their configurator: V0C1D2C3A4B5A6B7B8B9A
No separate mods on it - I just lubed the stabs, but otherwise straight out of the kit. The factory lube on the Oil Kings is great, and I wasn't tempted to redo it. I wanted a relatively firm board, and the combo of the internal materials I picked nailed the snappy and responsive typing feel I was hoping for.
I would describe the sound as fairly thick, smooth, and muted, with a gentle higher-register clack. Somewhere between a little woody, and like little marbles clicking together. Probably 50% quieter than the MX Browns I had on my previous non-custom board. I'm pickier about typing feel than I am about sound, but even so it's a very satisfying sound profile. Hope that helps!
