This keyboard has hot-swap sockets, so no need to solder. I have this exact board and it’s great.

But I also want the keyboard in question to have some kind of trackball/pad for convenience, as I am uncomfortable with mouse key emulation and have heard that QMK uses the unpopular exponential scrolling. I feel like a site for helping me get used to this would be able to eliminate this though. What about the Lotus58 anyway? Would I benefit more from a low-profile setup? Do I have a number row or not?

Those types (hehe, keyboard joke) of things is what kinda makes this space great, you can make whatever you want. Maybe practice soldering? Or you can pay the cost of having someone else solder. But you can get made whatever you want. It’s all very personal

Man... Why you gotta come for my wallet with reasonable explanations like hot swap split boards... LOL
