Admitting it is the first step, the first step to spending thousands on a single build. Once you realize you have a problem just run with it.

Do I need a new keyboard? Absolutely not. I'd like a new keyboard. I enjoy having new keyboards. I have to have new keyboards, but it's not like this compulsive need to have new keyboards, like my need to buy keycaps.

It's not really an addiction, for me.
It's a quest for perfection.

My quest started with me trying to find/buy a set of perfect keyboards; one for work, the other for home.
I made good progress, but ultimately realized I was never going to achieve the level of perfection I was looking for, that way.

That quest evolved into my current quest, which is to design/build my own perfect set of keyboards.
I've finally gotten a fully custom board built for work, designed from scratch...by me, for me.
I'm working on the sister board to that one, for home use.

After that, I don't see where I will really have anywhere productive to go, until my next big idea pops up.

My dad bought me and himself an OG G15 and I loved it to pieces (literally started to fall apart), then a shitty no name, then a Corsair MX red, next a wireless MX red, then finally built my current Box Jades and I love it. Haven't looked at keyboards in 2 years.

I have more than a couple of keyboards but since I haven’t blown anyone in a dark alley yet for a keyboard, I wouldn’t call myself an addict.

I wouldn't call myself addicted, but I think I'm nearly there.

I've been really wanting to get the Q3, and if I do it's gonna be my 3rd keyboard.

But goddamn this 3rd world life of mine because that Q3 costs a month of pay.

Haha good to see that "No, it's just a great hobby" has the most votes at 65 currently.

I don't think I am particularly addicted either. I joined a few cheaper Group Buy's for keycaps last year and finally some are getting delivered. But I quickly stopped and was still conscious of my spending.

Also I have passed on nearly 10 Group Buy keyboards, because either they are too similar to what I already have or just not worth it to me for what they offered.

I am currently saving up so the actual GB keyboards that are still in IC stage and I am really keen on don't put me on my ass. I am expecting them to end up being close to $1k so a single keyboard will already be enough of a hit.

I have been enjoying myself in the meantime with the budget range of things though. Purchased a Q6 by Keychron earlier this year, then a PC66 by Vortex keyboards recently and have my share of in-stock keycap sets.

Is it an addiction when you literally make money using them? Or does it make me a pusher?
