The factory lube is a bit inconsistent and they are so tight they can't work without lube. I had a few scratchy/sticky ones as well.

I took them apart, put them into an ultrasonic cleaner and applied some fresh 205g0. I found that aqua kings need much more lube than other switches.

I also lubed them but didn't remove the factory lube. I think I'll pick the extra scratchy ones and apply more lube. I also noticed filming doesn't really do much as these barely already have any wobble. Maybe filming it even makes it worse because of how tight it already is.

If you're going to lube some of them, just lube all of them or else you're going to end up with inconsistent switches again because some of them will be hand lubed while others are factory lubed.

I've never used stock Aqua Kings before but the keyboard I just bought through KFA already had lubed Aqua Kings on it and wow...they sound like pillow-y marbles. Definitely the best sounding keyboard I've heard with my own ears.

Stock Aqua Kings are factory lubed, albeit lightly. I agree with the sound. The best switch I've ever heard and people here say switches don't affect sound much. These definitely do. I've used them on an FR4 plate keyboard with no case and even it made it sound deeper

I didn't know that! I'd say as of now they're my favorite switch.

Aqua Kings are all polycarbonate so a good lube job is necessary because of cohesion, I actually prefer the Tecsee Ice Candies because of their nylon stem and they're generally cheaper. That said I think the Novelkeys Cream stem fits in the Aqua Kings if you like to franken-switch.

Thanks, I will buy a few tecsee ice candies to test them out. The smoother stem and pc housing might give a similar sound, more wobble I guess but at least no annoying scratch.
