to be fair I think it could be language specific. I'm Polish and I was taught to use right shift during typing classes in elementary school lol. For me, to use left shift only, it would mean fighting against 20+ years of muscle memory.

Yeah I can completely understand. I also type in other languages and it's a lot to learn or unlearn either ways

I would imagine missing the right alt is even more important for Polish.

Most european languages, yes. I'm slovene, and most 'special' characters that are usually found on the base/shift layer on an ANSI board are on the AltGR layer.
